Visiting Foreign Forces

Depth Logistics routinely handles cargo for visiting foreign forces to Australia which frequently involves special customs and quarantine clearance attention.

We are well versed with Status of Forces Agreements(SOFA) with Allied Nations and have positive working relationships with the military sections of Australian Border Force(ABF) and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry(DAFF) to make your deployment as smooth as possible.

Our approach is to appoint a member of our team, with an Australian Defence Force background, to act as an attache to the commanding or mobility officer of the visiting foreign force. We work to ensure that all operational and documentary requirements are in place prior to the cargo’s arrival.

For importation of military cargo including heavy vehicles, compliance with Australia’s strict biosecurity regulations is essential. Depth Logistics can provide Biosecurity Management Plans and pre-shipment cleanliness inspections of cargo at the origin by former biosecurity officers who are on our team. This means that on arrival in Australia there should be minimal work or washing required to have the cargo released from quarantine. If the equipment requires DAFF washing or treatment then our Depth Defence Logistics Centres in Brisbane, Darwin and Townsville have DAFF approved washpads and fumigation capabilities.

If the nature of the goods requires security escorts to an Australian Defence Force base, a security cleared member of our team can handle this.
