Heavy Haulage and Oversize Transport from Brisbane, Darwin and Townsville

Depth Logistics provides heavy haulage and oversize transport for out-of-gauge cargo that is too wide, long, high or heavy for standard freight, anywhere in Australia. We run it from our Depth Defence Logistics Centres (2DLCs) in Brisbane, Darwin and Townsville, with prime movers rated up to 140t, low loaders, dollies and drop deck widener trailers. We have moved oversize military and mining equipment up to and including an M1A2 Abrams tank, and our own oversize escort pilot vehicles keep every move in-house. We handle loads up to 100 tonnes and arrange the NHVR and state road-authority permits and route planning for you.

In-house oversize escort pilot vehicles

We run our own wide load (oversize) escort pilot vehicles and security escort cars, so we never need to hand your load to an outside escort company. Keeping every service in-house lets us deliver discreetly and keep your cargo movements as confidential as possible. Every truck is GPS tracked for safety, security and better operations.

Oversize escort pilot vehicle cover is available from Brisbane, Darwin and Townsville.

NHVR accreditation and permits

We are National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) accredited, with NHVR registration number NHVAS416379.

Depth Logistics arranges the permits for you. We handle NHVR and state road-authority oversize and overmass permits, plus route planning, as part of every heavy haulage job.

Security for defence and sensitive oversize cargo

Depth Logistics is a Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) member. We are also members of the Transport Asset Protection Association (TAPA), our 2DLCs comply with Class C Facility Security Standards, and we are ITAR compliant. Our road freight team is made up of experienced civilians and Australian Defence Force (ADF) veterans. All drivers hold MSIC cards, and most hold Department of Defence personal security clearances, DCAC cards and airport security clearances. We carry freight to and from any port or military base in Australia.

The Darwin fleet includes prime movers rated up to 140t, a 4 x 8 low loader, a 2 x 8 dolly, drop deck widener trailers, road train dollies and an oversize escort pilot vehicle, plus a Kalmar RT240 rough terrain reach stacker for hire.
