Depth Defence Logistics Centres in Brisbane and Darwin and our Townsville depot

Depth Logistics operates Depth Defence Logistics Centres (2DLCs) in Brisbane and Darwin, and a road transport depot in Townsville. The Brisbane and Darwin centres provide cargo handling, customs clearance, DAFF clearance and transport for Defence, defence industry and civilian cargo, 24/7. Each site is close to its city’s port, airport and defence bases, with good access to national highways for our own transport fleet.

What our 2DLCs offer

• Security: 24/7 operation, compliant CCTV and alarm systems, ITAR compliance, space to host military personnel security teams for controlled goods, and TAPA and SCEC approved safes
• Storage: large high bay secure warehouses and fully fenced, sealed yards for cargo and vehicles
• Transport: our fleet of trucks and secure vans is based at the centres, with forklifts and material handling equipment on site
• Biosecurity: all-weather DAFF washpads that can run day and night, fumigation pads, certified container stands for DAFF 14.4 rural tailgates, and Approved Arrangements with DAFF for sea and air cargo, including inspection processing of military packs and webbing
• Container freight station: we pack and unpack containers and flat racks, and shrink wrap, fumigate, palletise or crate cargo – see container unloading and loading

Our washpads prioritise defence and government cargo. Many of our team are ADF veterans qualified and experienced in operating common military vehicles, and we wash this high-value equipment carefully to help keep it available to Defence.

Brisbane Depth Defence Logistics Centre

Darwin Depth Defence Logistics Centre

31 Muramats Rd, East Arm NT 0822. 4 km from the Darwin Port gate at East Arm, close to RAAF Base Darwin and Robertson Barracks. This is a multimodal logistics terminal with a landing craft pocket and wharf for littoral transport, and road train access. A helipad for aircraft up to the CH-47 Chinook is being developed. The Darwin landing craft facility and barge pocket is the largest of its type in all of northern Australia. It has an LCT and RoRo ramp 53 m wide, so it can handle simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) of several vessels, with a large cargo laydown area next to the ramp for heavy cargo and crane work. First Point of Entry status is being pursued for the Darwin 2DLC, so that in future it can receive small vessels and military landing craft arriving from international ports.
